Staying Committed to Containing COVID-19 We are one of only three states in the country that has flattened our curve while reopening our economy. We have a lot to celebrate as our counties continue to move from the Yellow Phase to the Green Phase in our reopening plan. Our collective efforts to contain COVID-19 is paying off, but our work is far from over. When we move to the Green Phase, remember that it isn’t a return to how things were before. We must stay alert to keep the virus from resurging. Under every phase, we must: •tWear masks in public •tKeep our physical distance of six feet or more •tWash our hands frequently for at least 20 seconds •tClean and disinfect surfaces often •tLimit group gatherings and crowds Masks Are Mandatory Wearing a mask is an important part of keeping COVID-19 from spreading. Everyone must wear a mask. That includes workers and customers. Remember, my mask protects you and your mask protects me.

Road Closure Information

In May 2024, you were sent a letter regarding PECO’s work to upgrade and install new equipment to modernize and enhance the local electric infrastructure. This project work required the closure of Dehaven Street. The work is now complete on Dehaven Street and the road closure will no longer be in effect. However, this project work will continue and require the closure of Balligomingo Road between Dehaven Street and Jones Road. The closure will be in effect starting July 1st, 2024 and will last about 3 weeks. The road will be closed Monday through Thursday during work hours, 9am-3pm.

About the Project:

  • We will be upgrading and installing new, innovative equipment, including new poles and tree-resistant aerial wires to provide you with safe and reliable service and meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • In addition, advanced devices will be installed that can stop the flow of electricity on the line if a problem occurs and automatically restore electricity where possible.
  • As part of this work, we will begin an enhanced vegetation management program across the region to reduce the number of outages caused by trees and other vegetation.
  • All work will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors.
  • Work will occur along Balligomingo Road, Dehaven Street, Hillside Avenue in Upper Merion Township and Dehaven Avenue, New Dehaven Street, William Street, Merion Avenue, Powers Avenue, Front Street in West Conshohocken Borough.

 Timeline:

  • Tree trimming work has been completed.
  • Work on electrical equipment, including poles and wires, is in progress.
  • The closure of Balligomingo Road will be in effect July 1st, 2024 and will last about 3 weeks.
  • The project is expected to be completed at the end of July 2024.

Crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service to safely complete some of this work. We will work with customers to ensure they are informed in advance of our activities and any planned interruptions. We will also work closely with local officials to minimize the impact on traffic and pedestrians whenever possible. Access for services such as trash removal, student transportation and emergency vehicles will be maintained during construction.
