A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all of Montgomery County from Wednesday morning, September 1st, through Thursday evening, September 2nd. Remnants of Hurricane Ida will pass through the region Wednesday, departing on Thursday morning. Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms associated with this low will result in widespread 3 to 5 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts likely exceeding 6 inches.  Significant flooding and flash flooding is likely Wednesday and Wednesday night, especially given that the ground is saturated from recent heavy rain events. Significant river flooding is likely for some main stem rivers, creeks, and streams starting Wednesday afternoon, and possibly lasting through the weekend.
Due to wind gusts please make sure you secure your trash cans, lawn furniture and recyclables. Some roadways are prone to flooding , so if the roadways are flooded please do not proceed through it. Stop and turn around.

Thank you.
